What beer are you drinking tonight? For the new forum...

Finally found something worthy of a new post (it's been the same old, same old, although I did have my first SN Celebration of the year the other night, excellent)

Anyway, Rio's Rompin' Rye Beer from Epic Brewing. So good and what is odd is that it is in the highest series of their beers. Normally priced at over $8 a bottle, but I got this one for less than $4. I'll be heading back to the store for more.

Tried a new (to me) brewer tonight: No-Li brewing out of Spokane. Tried the Silent Treatment Pale Ale. Will not repeat. It was too carbonated for me, which overpowered any favors in the beer. Oh well. Up next is one of my fave winter brews: Full Sail's Wreck the Halls. Mmmm-mmm good stuff

Stone Ruination IPA. Almost wants me to chase it down with something malty.

I know, but I had to find out for myself. Enjoy some Belgian stuff for me while you're at it!

Blue Moon Mountain Abbey Ale - a couple bottles = a case if I had it,,,good stuff.

Seems like its been a while since I've visited this thread. Last couple months havent tried many new things for a change - now that Christmas ales are in full force and I love them so. So a lot of Great Lakes Christmas Ale, Southern Tier 2XMAS, those two are at the top of my list, followed by 12 Dogs of Christmas, The Brew Kettle's Winter Warmer, Columbus Brewing Co Winter Warmer... I just love this time of year.

Also picked up Saranac 12 Beers of Winter sampler bundle, which was mostly new ones for me... their Spiced Christmas Ale was ok but not as bold or spicy as my other favorite Christmas Ales. Right now I am enjoying their Decoction Concoction, which is a dry-hopped lager, and I'm really digging it. I'd be all over a pack or three if it came by itself.

Just discovered Lagunitas Maximus. It's one of the few affordable Imperial/Double India Pale Ales that merits membership in my inner IPA circle: Summit Saga, New Belgium Rampant, Sierra Nevada Torpedo, and Founders Centennial IPA. Mix'em, match'em, trade'em with your friends. I rule out a lot of IPAs because I don't like much malt.

WTF Abide? Have you moved to Europe? Last time I heard you were in the Cotswolds.

I'm a big fan of Ginger beer... I make it home made off and on at a low alcohol level but try the marketed brands when I find them. The Crabbies brand out of England is the best that I have found so far.

So tonite I tried a Ginger Beer from Magic Hat...called G-Thing supposed to be ginger flavored but its a fail.... barely any ginger taste at all...its a decent beer but not a ginger at all.
