Super slippery barefoot hike in the mud! On the way back, there were a couple spots where I actually had to squat all the way down, a walk squat, to keep from slipping. Then I saw a giant moustache painted on the hood of a car on my way out! Lol!

You know, 9/10 times this site tells me my photos are too large, and I don't think I have an editing function on my cheap phone, so...bummer. :(

i'd take the beach scenery of Daigo over the mud any day. same core workout. lot of twisting and trying to run straight. :snaphappy:

Oh hell no - I don't download anything having to do with google cuz it sucks every person I have ever g-mailed in my life into my phone contacts.

I'm a big fan of dry beach sand myself. It feels so pillowy, and it's a good workout.

My goodness. Even when I was at my HEIGHT of running and strength training -dry sand running was a major injury causing torture-fest. WAY too unstable for my body's liking. My husband went running on the dry sand, I told him not to, he was f-ed up for 3 weeks.

When I started running, it was on a nice soft, sometimes muddy trail. It was great. It hide all of my imbalances.

My problems started when I moved, and tried to run on pavement, where my deficiencies caused all sorts of problems, which shoes couldn't fix.

I wasn't until my feet (and problems) were bared, that I was able to address them, successfully!

And THAT is exactly why I will only ever be a trail runner -which is where humans were designed to run, on UNEVEN terrain.
