Hills and a sore calf muscle

You are doing great. Glad to see you getting out of your shoes even for a bit.

There are Docs in the house who may be able to help relax that calf.

For me time and deep massage works.

Hills can be tricky, you may be staying up on your forefoot and no dropping your heel.

I had the same problem. Take a few weeks off, then if there is a school track nearby, test yourself with an easy lap or two. You will be close to the car if there is a problem. Go real easy on the hills, give it time. Good luck.

Find yourself a chiropractor that specializes in ART. This deep massage will loose up your tight muscles. I used it every month and follow the stretching exercises prescribed.

Something I learned from Lou (RunBarefoot) in Peterboro, try lifting your heals more when running. This gives your calves a momentary relaxation and helps reduce the tightness.

Having hills for training is great. Makes every race seem flat.

Good luck
