Checking out This Blogging Thing...

Yesterday I managed to run five miles total - four in the Bikilas and one barefoot. It's coming along nicely and I'm not sore today at all - that's the best part! I've finally figured out how to run comfortably and still have some semblance of a "pace" (at least,I don't feel like I'm at a slow crawl anymore). The nice thing is that I feel like all the frustration I'd had previously was worth it!

I've gotten "good"enough now to notice that I run differently with the Bikilas than barefoot. I'm not sure whether this is really normal, but Iassume so. Ihaven't run in any of the other VFFs in awhile, so I can't say whether it has to do with the thicker sole, butIdefinitely notice it. The saving grace is that it's not uncomfortable or painful either with or without the Bikilas; it's just different. Maybe that helps build different muscles!

At any rate, I'm enjoying being barefoot on my runs in addition to hanging out (which was usually the norm), and I'm really glad I decided to try it out.
